Falls Church, VA – PaneraTech, Inc., has been awarded an SBIR Phase I contract by the U.S. Air Force to develop a Transparency Sensor System (“TSS”). TSS is envisioned for use on the automated inspection of aircraft canopies at the manufacturing line to ensure that defect-free transparencies are installed on the aircraft. This program also involves developing a handheld portable sensor that will be used in defect detection and canopy inspection while the transparencies are installed on the aircraft. PaneraTech has already demonstrated a non-contact RF technique to extract sheet resistance from multi-layer composites. Under this program, we will leverage our technology to meet the U.S. Air Force’s need.
